Hospital care

Round-the-clock nursing for people with higher medical and personal care needs.

Understanding your options

What is hospital care?

Hospital-level residential care provides ongoing nursing and personal support when health needs are more complex. A care plan brings together clinical needs, everyday routines and the things that matter to the person. It is different from an acute hospital admission for emergency treatment.

Your questions, answered

How is this different from resthome care?

Hospital care is for higher nursing needs. Resthome care focuses on everyday personal support. A needs and clinical assessment helps establish which level is appropriate.

What should we bring to a conversation?

Bring any assessment information and a current medication list, and tell the team about mobility, daily routines and what support is needed now.

Can we visit before deciding?
